Arctic Svalbard:
Luxury Exploration through land of Vikings & the Midnight Sun
Aboard the Silver Endeavour
Where the Midnight Sun Never Sets
There is a version of summer that most of the world never sees. Above the Arctic Circle, the sun simply refuses to go down, and Svalbard glows for weeks at a time under a light unlike anywhere else on earth.
This nine day expedition carries you from the fjords of Norway into one of the last true wildernesses left on the planet, where polar bears walk the sea ice, walrus haul out on rocky beaches, and the silence is broken only by the crack of glaciers calving into the sea.
We built this itinerary for travelers who want the real Arctic, not a postcard of it. Aboard Silversea's newest expedition ship, Silver Endeavour, you will trade crowded decks for one of the highest crew to guest ratios at sea, and trade guesswork for expedition leaders who have spent their careers reading these waters and this ice.
The Journey
Tromsø, Norway: Board Silver Endeavour in the Arctic capital of Norway, gateway to the far north.
Skarsvag & North Cape: Stand at the northernmost point of mainland Europe before the ship turns toward open water.
Bear Island: A remote sanctuary for kittiwakes and fulmars, and your first taste of the wildlife density this region is known for.
Southern Svalbard: Days of Zodiac landings and guided hikes through an archipelago where polar bears roam and seabird colonies fill the cliffs.
Northern Svalbard: The most remote stretch of the voyage, deep into polar bear and walrus territory, with ice conditions and wildlife sightings shaping each day's plan in real time.
Longyearbyen: Disembark in the world's northernmost town, having crossed a landscape few travelers ever reach.
Seven ports. One country. Zero days simply spent at sea. Every day here is built around getting you off the ship and into the landscape, with 22 shore excursions available across the voyage.
Life Aboard Silver Endeavour
This is Silversea's newest and most capable expedition ship, purpose built for exactly this kind of travel. Every suite includes a private butler and an ocean view, and the ship carries an expert to guest ratio that lets you actually get to know the naturalists and historians guiding your landings, rather than sharing them with a few hundred strangers.
All-inclusive means all-inclusive. Butler service, 24 hour in-suite dining, unlimited champagne and spirits, a cellar of up to 50 wines, Wi-Fi, gratuities, and port taxes are all built into your fare before you ever step aboard.
Five restaurants, from the Italian classics of Il Terrazzino to the French fine dining of La Dame, mean no two nights on board taste the same.
A dedicated Mud Room keeps your expedition gear organized and ready between landings, a small detail that makes a real difference on a trip built around getting in and out of Zodiacs daily.
